We’ve gone from TAA’s wide & deep whipped crosses to Bradley’s under lap and Mo isn’t adapting at all. Mo, Bradley, Wirtz and Szoboslai are all inhabiting the same space for large portions of a game and Mo looks to have spat his dummy out. I think Slot sees the shape in possession as a 4-2-4 (Wirtz wide left, Salah wide right) but who are your 2 in midfield?

Personally I see Wharton and Gravenberch being similar. They are both comfortable receiving the ball in deep, tight spaces and progressing upfield 30 yards with no bother but neither have shown the ability to press high until the pitch like Macca or Szoboslai. I think this is our last season with Salah, Allison, MacAllister, Gakpo and Konate. And the transition will still be happening at the start of next season and I still think our evolution to a 4-2-2-2 is happening.

This awful run of form, the inability to gel new players in and the paralysis the players seem to have on the pitch is massively worrying. True test of Arne managerial ability coming up especially with Jurgen looking happy, healthy and doing PR about “his next steps” and there being a huge dearth of quality managers.

Best thing about this season is the f***ing kits.
