As it was reported at the time there was the issue of the Crouch money being outstanding when it came to GJ, obviously it still means we paid X amount but it would have been significantly less than the £17m bandied about. With Rafa he was always trying to find ways to make money, imo a number of players signed were bought purely because he knew he could sell them on at a profit. We also v rarely lost significant money on his signings, a couple worked out badly but in the majority of cases we made money and alot of it. Of the signings made under the new regime, we wont make any money on Carrol, Downing or Henderson (though its too early to tell atm - we still overpaid), Adam would definitely go for more as would Enrique. Obviously Suarez (though lets hope he stays for life!!) would sell for significantly more even with his current "image" as portrayed by the media.
