As much as it's great fun to assume all management at the club are w*nkers and gobsh*ites. Broughton is a professional at the top of his game, and has too much to lose by going on telly spouting s****. It sounds like there is a process in place to sell the club and each stage has a fixed date by which to submit bids - date x, then preferred bidders get to do due diligence by date y, and complete in a reasonable time after that if their bid has been accepted. standard stuff really. If he pulls it off, i'll shake his hand. dammit i'll buy him a pint!
