Newcastle defender Celestine Babayaro has been charged with violent conduct by The Football Association for an incident involving Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt during Wednesday's match between the two sides. Babayaro appeared to push Kuyt in the face as the two players jostled in the box while waiting for a corner. The incident went unnoticed by the referee Mark Halsey during the game, but The FA have decided to take action after viewing television footage. Babayaro has until Monday September 26 to respond to the charge. If found guilty the Nigerian faces an automatic three-match ban. A statement from the FA said: "According to fast track procedures for such cases, along with the charge, Babayaro has been offered the automatic penalty of a three-match suspension. "He has until 6pm on Monday 25 September to respond to the charge." Sky
