  1. Babel nearly f***s it up by falling over. Shelvey showing Meireles how to tackle people.
  2. Meireles isn't having a great game. Needs to be stronger in the tackle and use the ball better. It's like he decided to do all the worst hollywood bits of Gerrard's game now he's off. Torres is in danger of embarrassing himself now.
  3. He was in the air, two footed. Red card all day. We'd go mental if that was against us and it was only a yellow. Can argue about the s**** penalty all day long but that was a red. Stupid challenge when we were well in the game.
  4. Now Torres needs to get his head out of his a***. Everyone else has raised their game but he's still moping about, bad touches, second to the ball and putting more energy into arguing.
  5. He can't even say the right thing when we've won. What a t***. Edit: damn you Tommo - quicker on the keyboard than me
  6. Don't want to rain on the parade, but the way he celebrated with Sammy and other backroom staff didn't suggest he was a man who thought he was on his way out of the club. He's got at least til the cup game now I would expect. Be interesting to see next team selection.
  7. Every time you think he can't be a bigger c*** he finds a way. If he could find a way to channel this creativity into his football management he might actually stop us playing like s**** and losing at home to the bottom of the league team who had the worst away record in the country.
  8. The only tiny point of amusement is that Hodgson's hands are so deep in his pockets - clearly trying not to give in to the urge to rub his face...
  9. Who do you think you're kidding at this point in time, you transparent t***?
  10. Your response to Roegahnn was more of the same - smug-sounding comment about the media commentators, completely ignoring the fact about the games in hand that doesn't fit your argument and is a lot more difficult to refute. Your reply to me is more of what annoyed me with the post I originally replied to - mock outrage, reduce the debate to a few simplifications in support of your opinion when the reality is far more nuanced, and dismiss all counter-arguments in a couple of throw-away phrases. Not least in that the way things panned out suggest Benitez's outburst had far more to do with his sacking than Inter's league position. Personally, I don't hold Benitez in the highest of esteems, as anyone who happened to be on a match thread with me last season would have seen. The man has faults, but he's still preferable to the appalling excuse of a manager we've got at present. And I think that was the original point of the thread, wasn't it? I'm sadly coming to the conclusion that NESV are committing the crime Knox has been accusing them of and wasting this whole season because they don't know enough. They don't know enough to realise that the season is still recoverable with decisive action on the manager, and they don't know enough to realise the damage Hodgson could do between now and May. I'd like to take this opportunity to say f*** off Purslow. Anyway, on that cheerful note, Happy Xmas everyone
  11. No. Because you're the one who's made the assertion. Burden of proof is on you, not me, hence my initial comment. It's an easy life when you can throw your opinions around and when they're questioned it's apparently up to the questioner to prove you wrong, rather than up to you to prove your original point. Most of your contentions have been answered elsewhere in this and other threads (e.g. the context of Inter having won the league the last few years), but don't let that stop your smug mock outrage at the people who disagree with you and are fed up of your lazy and repetitive posts on the subject.
  12. in other words, please don't get into the detail or my paper-thin argument will disintegrate?
  13. What's the f***ing difference between that and the pen you c***?
  14. on for Jovanovic? Are you f***ing joking? now we have 5 centre mids. Genius. I guess they wouldn't have been expecting that.
  15. The club sacked him, lied about it, and now his successor is spouting all manner of s**** about him on a weekly basis in the press. And it's Benitez who should keep quiet for the good of the club and his dignity? If you want this s*** to stop then you should be directing your comments at the actual Liverpool manager, who is supposed to care about the good of the club, rather than the ex-manager who needn't give a flying one.
  16. Your insistence that he's being written off after only the league games is wearing a bit thin. As has been pointed out continously, he's being written off after double that number of games in charge of us, and after a long career of mediocrity in which he never displayed any hint of the qualities we would expect from a Liverpool manager. What a surprise then, that now he's got the job he doesn't display any of the qualities we expect from a Liverpool manager.
  17. How can he even take the joy out of going in the lead with 5 mins to go? Bring on Poulsen.
  18. Hicks (and his lawyers) must be completely certifiable at this point. How the f*** are they going to argue that the injunction happened before the court proceedings yesterday? If it was happening to someone else I'd be pissing myself laughing.
  19. and all the other games too but that weakens your argument doesn't it? (not quite quick enough with the stupid spacing parody)
  20. I don't respond to every point because you're repeating yourself endlessly in the various threads on this subject, and most of your other points have been responded to in detail elsewhere. But as I'm here, I'd say that if you make statements like "I think its important when looking at a manager not to get bogged down and over analysing his match day tactics and formations" then how you expect to be taken seriously I don't know. What else should you judge him on? His press comments? Well he's not doing too well there, whether he's talking about performances, results, expectations, fans behaviour, our players, other teams or managers. His choice of transfers? Not too clever either, Meireles aside. You then go on about judging on such a short period when it's been pointed out again and again that we're not seeing anything new or ambitious from Hodgson here. We're seeing failing attempts to bring the same limited tactical setup that he employed previously in his career to our players. You even describe his approach, or philosophy, as limited yourself. If he can't get a talented group of players - and no matter how they're performing at the moment, there are enough of them with enough talent - to implement a limited, and in my opinion deeply flawed, tactical plan in 15 games then he's not a good manager. Certainly not good enough for us. We have 3 months of practical experience of how he'll manage at Anfield. After some initially encouraging signs in early press conferences, there's nothing encouraging in any area of his performance since we've actually began to play football. You choose to credit him with persuading Torres and Gerrard to stay, when other versions of the story credit that to promises over the ownership. Others still dispute that they were ever going to leave anyway, His popularity within the game is utterly meaningless - I don't care if our manager is mates with everyone or mates with no one if he's doing a good job. I'd go as far as to suggest that Roy's got loads of mates because he's never been a threat to anyone, but that's just my opinion. You can call it cynical. I call it realistic.
  21. In a post that has several questionable statements, this is a real gem. He's doing so well on the man-management so far, wouldn't you say? There's absolutely no justification for giving him a whole season if things continue like this for much longer. Unless there are clear signs of improvement in the next couple of games - and that means more than a 10 minute spell of actually being able to pass to a teammate - I would be looking to replace him.
  22. If you saw Nani in the street you'd kick him, wouldn't you?
  23. How about you f*** off with all your witty comebacks? Are you Roy's dad?
  24. How the f*** is he unmarked, 6 yards out in the middle of the goal? Again?
  25. El Zhar only a loan too. Happy days.
