Mascherano is starting for the Argentinean Olympic squad against the Japanese Olympic squad in Japan.

Team was very poor today. Consistantly inconsistant over the last few games and Rafa has to be accountable too - questionable team formations. Have given up on this season. A champions league spot would be a bonus.

Overall play is woeful. Players seem to be out of sync and one step slower than Boro.

Disappointed with the result, 2 points dropped especially with Manu loosing. All the missed opportunities - Torres, Kuyt, Benny Kewell... A positive, a much better performance than Derby.

Gerrard was rattled by Anderson for most of the match. Too many long balls from him. Babel should be playing more instead as a sub. The defenders clearly had trouble handling him today with his pace and directness towards goal. He could be an option with Torres upfront.

While we may have dominated possession for most part of the match, we lack the quality to know what to do with the ball. There is still a gap that we have to bridge between being champions of the league and where we are now. So much for the title this year.

It does show what a difference Gallas makes to the back line. They have all sorts of problems across the back four. I was worried about our pre-season form of the defence but it looks like they have a bigger headache.

I was thinking the same to over the weekend. He could be on his way to Real Madrid. Another league, another challenge...

After watching both Agger and Vidic for the first time, I am glad we got the Dane. Agger looked more comfortable and more composed with the ball. Even though this was my first time watching both of them play on tele, I'd say we got the better centre back.
