When the premiership starts in a few weeks Rio Ferdinand will routinely be described as a classy player. He's not fit to lace Cannavaros boots, and I can't think of many who are. Delightged to see England go out, and not because I'm anti English in any way whatsoever. The panel on RTE (Irish TV), JOhn Giles, Liam Brady, Graeme Souness and Eamon Dunphy, have been spot on with their analsysis of England and Eriksson in this tournament. Had England gone on to win the world cup or even reach the final, it would've flown in the face of all the basic tenets of management, team building and simple football values. Erikssons been England manager for 5 years, in his third tournament, after countless friendlies and still game to game theres debate about formations, 'holding roles' and continuous experimentation in huge games. It renders the last five years a waste of time.......completely. The Beckham circus, the amount of spin and PR, the lack of direction, the selection of Walcott etc etc. I feel genuinely sorry for the genuine England fans, and the players like Terry, Gerrard and Ashley Cole whose talent deserves a competent leader. With any of Benitez, Wenger, Ferguson, Mourinho, Scholari, Hiddink, Lippi, Capello in charge that team could be current European Champions and in the semis now, as strong favourites to win the tournament. Opportunity wasted.

I think I must've missed something but I've noticed in a few games in the world cup that referees have played advantage after a foul but when an advantage didn't accrue ( the fouled player lost the ball or whatever) the referee blew up and brought the play back to allow a free kick to be taken, similar to what would happen in rugby. Since when has this been part of the game? Did I miss some rule change?

I've never been to Mr Freddies myself but as far as I know its not on the marina but is in a village called Quarteira which is only a few mins from the marina. The area is v popular with footballers. A quiet bar I go into there regularly has the likes of Stevie, Carra, Hansen, Shearer, Riise etc etc in Its a bit quieter in that regard this year because most of them are at the world cup but even last month England had their training camp there and Ireland were there for a few days. Its a place where when you meet a player they're relaxed enough to have drink with you or chat for a while

I can recall trying to place a similar bet in a previous tournament (think it was France to win, Henry to be top scorer) and the bookies wouldnt asllow it as it was a `related` bet. In other words the chances of the player being top scorer is much greater when he's playing for the team that wins the tournament. Am I right about this ?

Anyone can make one of those up to be honest The boots I bought have a photo of him signing them, which is probably a bit more of a guarantee. Unless you have someone autograph something yourself though I guess you can never be 100% sure

I've bought two pairs of the boots for £100 per pair. I'm surprised I got them that cheap to be honest. Especially considering he's double world player of the year, Just won La Liga, Champions League and in with a great shot at winning the world cup. The good thing from my point of view is that I now have four signed Roanldinho boots, so if I ever feel like selling them i can sell three and keep one for myself. I'd imagine if I got them put into a presentation case with a plaque they might be attractive to pub owners, sports bars or whatever. Think I did well.
