It's even more impressive that Rafas made that progression having inherited a relatively weak squad in a different football culture. He's had a limited budget and managed the team through the uncertainty and upheavel of the takeover process. Great time to be a Liverpool fan.
Really stupid question here, but how do you get the podcast? Is it a URl or can you search for it in Itunes. Only installed Itunes lately so excuse the stoopidity!
Yeah and he'd let you ride his wife, just to be hospitable. Of course that'd be publicised as his good deed, even though she'd have taken the punishment.
If we got Chelsea in the semi they're still going to be competing on all fronts and I don't think they'll be as fresh or quite as focussed on the tie as we'd be. And knocking them out would be Rafa putting the final nail in Mourinhos coffin. Then beat the Mancs in Athens and we'll be well and truly back on our f***ing perch!
A good point alluded to earlier in the thread is that our squad is so strong with such an evenly talented distribution of interchangable players, that we really don't have a significantly weakened side no matter who Rafa selects. With the obvious exceptions of Dudek and maybe one or two of the kids we've a very capable first and second eleven. All the critics of rafas rotation in the media don't seem to mention it too much any more, do they?
Went shopping for a few shirts in Limerick yesterday. Got back to the hotel a bit bladdered. Took out the shirts and what falls out of the bag but a leaflet with that t***s stupid smiley head promoting prostate cancer awareness or some other schite! I was staying in Irelands tallest hotel and I felt like f***ing the shirts out the bloody window into the river! Evil all pervasive do gooder c***! He's probably responsible for people getting cancer from the radiation off his f***ing halo c***!
Dont think theyre a lot better than Bayern to be honest. They were very ordinary against an extremely ordinary Celtic side. Think Bayern are a decent enough side
The bloke is a bell-end. I'd have had more time for Quinn if he'd told him to feck off. Definitely. But Quinn is terrified to do anything controversial or ever say anything other than the right thing. A lot of people on here like him cos he's been positive towards us when covering our games. If he were commentating on anyone else he'd be the same, regardless of who they were or how good or bad they played. He's desperate to be liked. It works for him with most people. Not me I'm afraid. Had enough of this topic now so I'm not posting any further.
Yeah, but your previous post stated that the fans turned up and paid good money to Quinn. They didnt. They filled the ground and bought non attendance tickets etc to support the charity, and knew in advance they were doing so. Thats my point. They deserve the majority of the credit. Quinn and moreso the club deserve some for organising it. But Quinn took all the credit.
Totally incorect It was part of the marketing push for the game that the proceeds were going to charity. Thats why they were selling 'non attendance' tickets to people who wanted to contribute but couldn't go for whatever reason. So people WEREN'T supporting Quinn. They knew in advance they were giving to charity, not to Quinn
Bayern munich are even money to progress to the CL semi final. They're at home in the second leg. Haven't seen much of either this season but that seems a decent bet. Anyone got any informed opinions on this?
Yeah, instead of taking the money for himself he gave it to charity. But the money didnt come from him, it came from ordinary people who decided to support a good cause out of their own hard earned cash. He helped facilitate it. Quinn has plenty of money and it's unlikely a million quid would've made any difference to his life. He has more than one investment property worth way more than that. The people who donated their hardearned money deserve most of the credit. Quinn took it all. Niall Quinn is no Gandhi.
