  1. The away goal rule shouldn't apply in extra time as the team thats away in the first leg has half an hour less time to get an away goal than their opponents, should the tie be level after 180 minutes. If it got to penalties though, imagine the bottle needed to take one in front of the Kop. Real test of character that.
  2. I think the reason we started so badly and looked so out of sorts is because we've been playing in second gear for the last few weeks in anticipation of this game. It's all very well being fresh but i don't think its always possible to just turn it on when you went. There was almost no fluidity or pattern to our play at all. Need to dictate the tempo and move the ball around a lot better next week Simply retaining possession and moving them around would be a starting point.

  4. He's nowhere near as big a c*nt as Quinn and he never will be! One has no neck and the other a neck like a jockeys bollix!
  5. Thats what i meant. We ahould now have a more realistic chance of landing an Etoo or a Villa
  6. Why? We were able to afford that type of player before Hicks and Gillett came in. There'll be significantly more money available this summer.
  7. I think we'd be mad to sell him. He's quick very clever on the ball and makes things happen. I'd get rid of Kuyt before Bellamy
  8. I would've said the opposite. Messi moves the ball more in his dribble to beat players than Maradona did. Both amazing goals, think Messis is better in isolation but Maradonas in the context of a World Cup Quarter Final was special Messi's dribbling and general ball control make him look the ball is tied to his foot. He has a beautifully subtle touch

  11. Etoo is clearly the best of the lot, and should be the one we're after.

  19. I said it was a booze induced idea! Obviously meant to say knock them off. Thought i did funny enough Never watched Eurotrash then?
  20. Valencia for me as well. At least there'd be a good athmosphere at the Mestalla unlike the Bridge. It'd be a great occasion for Rafa too and even though they posess different threats than Chelsea, they're not quite as good. Be more interesting tactically as well.
  21. Reading the thread about the banner claiming 'Italian bizzies are Scousers' got me thinking about the quality and wit of the banners in Istanbul and elsewhere. Wouldn't it be fantastic if when we moved to the new stadium we were able to incorporate a really impressive museum to do justice to our 'storied' history, as George might say. The current museum is very good and a credit to Steve Done, but I'd imagine he's a bit limited by the space allocated to him. A bigger space, with the incorporation of more cutting edge media would be fantastic and could be a serious crowd puller in its own right. A few of my boozed up ideas if you'll bear with me: An enormous wall full of all the best banners down through the years A virtual reality experience of what it was like to be standing on the Kop when it was full to capacity and sucking the ball into the net on a big European night All the Cups, replica shirts and memoribilia from the existing museum A facility where on a regular basis there's fan nights, where for example in years to come the players and staff can give talks about the great nights in their playing careers. Think after dinner speaking without the dinner, with a few thousand fans in and a much more polished production. Looking forward to the Rafa night where he has the hall enthralled by his recollections of his dominance of Europe and putting United back on their f***ing perch Lots of things could be done; for sure we have possibilities, and maybe the club are already looking at this. Think it'd be great though
  22. Yeah but Carra doesn't do every time a decision goes against him, isn't as in your face aggressive and profane as Rooney, and generally his protests are justified. It also doesn't affect his focus. Not so with Rooney
  23. Why'd you say that?
