  1. He was a great striker with great finishing ability. He wasn't a joy to watch in the way some strikers with individual brilliance (like Henry, Tevez, Del Piero, Ronaldo etc.etc.) are/were. That may not be relevant though.
  2. Owen had no brilliance other than his pace IMO. He was a great, great striker though (might still be).
  3. Didn't we already sign a striker called Fernando once? I seem to remember that he hailed from Madrid, had a mullet and played for the national team... Eriksson confident beating Liverpool for West Ham's Benayoun tribalfooball.com - June 26, 2007 Sven Goran Eriksson is confident Manchester City can trump Liverpool for West Ham midfielder Yossi Benayoun. The Times says Eriksson is optimistic that he can exploit his relationship with Pini Zahavi, the powerful Israeli agent, to sign Benayoun. Liverpool have already made a bid for Benayoun, but, with the Merseyside club struggling to meet West Ham's £4 million valuation, City believe their new-found financial strength could prove decisive. Liverpool's Benitez close to record deal for Torres tribalfooball.com - June 26, 2007 Liverpool are a step closer to sealing a record deal for Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres. The *** says Anfield chief Rafa Benitez has agreed to pay £25 million for the 23-year-old Spanish international. But Torres is entitled to 10 per cent of any fee and Atletico insist Liverpool should pay it. The Premiership outfit are adamant the cash should come out of the transfer pot and want it knocked off the price. Benitez's own agent Garcia Quilon is trying to broker a deal and Liverpool are confident they will get their man. Why would Benitez's agent try to broker the deal if Torres has his own agents who are dealing with the Liverpool representatives? edit: Sorry sisn't notice the rag was in there, please delete if needs be
  4. Don't think we'll get that much for Sissoko and Bellamy necessarily, but I take your point. Pretty sure we won't sell all of them anyway. Kaizer: Can you leave your stats somewhere next time you post something? It's getting tiresome...
  5. 50M? don't think so.
  6. How do you know?
  7. Not sure if this is fake or not, so take it as you like. Apparently we've had a press conference today at the new stadium, where the re-signing of Antonio Nunez was also announced.
  8. I'd expect us to sign Robert Huth as a striker too. Then and only then would I appreciate Rafa and the owner's handling of the summer signings.
  9. @ Kaizer @ Maldini
  10. I quite liked the repetitive tone of your posts floyd - it's almost like a chant in itself I quite liked the repetitive tone of your posts floyd - it's almost like a chant in itself I quite liked the repetitive tone of your posts floyd - it's almost like a chant in itself
  11. When the f*** do we have the press conference then? I think it's about a week overdue according to Mike or whoever it was
  12. Mesto agent: Liverpool's Macia keen tribalfooball.com - June 19, 2007 The agent of Giandomenico Mesto expects Liverpool to soon make an offer for the Reggina midfielder. Moreno Roggi said last night: "I'm sure that by the end of the market those that are interested in my client will make serious offers. "Roma, AC Milan and Lazio have been interested in him for a long time, but there is also Liverpool. "Their general manager, Eduardo Macia, asked after Mesto when he was working with Valencia, and now could make a move to add him to Rafa Benitez's team." Who he? Liverpool, Arsenal invited to bid for Real Madrid's Robinho tribalfooball.com - June 19, 2007 Arsenal will be invited to bid for Real Madrid winger Robinho this summer. El Mundo Deportivo says Real chiefs intend to cash in on Robinho to fund a bid for AC Milan midfield ace Kaka. The Brazil international midfielder is regarded as the only player on Real's books capable of raising a big enough fee to strengthen their hand in negotiations for Kaka. Only in January, Robinho admitted that AC Milan had expressed interest in him, while Arsenal moved for the former Santos star last summer, but were put off by Real's £15 million asking price. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will monitor developments closely, particularly after losing out to Manchester United for Nani earlier this month. Yeah, this sounds very likely
  13. Out of the strikers we have lately been linked with, my personal order of preference would be as follows: 1) Henry 2) Tevez 3) Etoo 4) Milito 5) Torres 6) Bent 7) Owen You can use that list too Rafa if you want
  14. Each time I've seen him (admittedly only on the reserves' highlights), he has looked simply the worst player on the pitch. I rarely say things this bluntly, but there hasn't been a single positive from him from what I've seen.
  15. The important thing is whether fyds changed his opinion on DIC before the age of 23 or after.
  16. 2 mins gone, what are they saying?
  17. This was taken at Melwood an hour ago:
  18. Sign James Beattie and Alan Stubbs!
  19. That's it I've had it with Parry. We're losing all our top targets to Chelsea. Sidwell, paisley81, Malouda and I'm sure eventually Cobs will sign for them too.
  20. So have we signed paisley81 yet?
  21. He's NOT INJURY PRONE though!!!
