    Priceless
  3. Hello Rick Parry I like it as well though. The Rafa interviews and highlights from the ressies' matches are the main points for myself.
  4. I don't think Riise should be our starting LW. However, I thought he was surprisingly good (by his standards) on Saturday. The shots were horrible though.

  7. Rafa sounded 99% sure of getting Heinze in the Villa press conference.

  9. Gluesticks, anyone?
  10. True Take Mascherano out of it then, or alternatively bring Baros back on in the second half.
  11. It's Chelsea so I doubt it that the money goes by all accounts
  12. ---------------------Reina---------------------- ---------Carragher-Hyypia-Agger------------ Finnan--Gerrard-Mascherano-Sissoko--Riise -----------Benayoun------Babel---------------- -------------------Voronin----------------------- Rafa could always do something a bit mad like the above as well, you know.
  13. There's nothing to criticise in the contents of the article, is there.

f***ing hell, coaching and training are different things. Do people honestly believe that Maradona could do anything with the ball when he first started kicking it? He took the f***ing thing to bed with him every night, that's how much he trained when he was a kid. Anyways, carry on. Where were we... has Babbel signed yet?

That's why I picked him as an example. I've read interviews where he has pretty much said it himself. I don't deny that some people are born more talented than others, but usually the best players in any sport are the ones who have spent most hours training for their success.

Any big tall bloke could not have been trained to do what he did. BUT some other big blokes with enough training at a young age and beyond + the right mentality could have done what he did IMO. I actually think Jari Litmanen is a good example of this. He had more guile, vision and techique than 99% of footballers. Do you think he was born with it? No, it was due to hard work day after day from an early age on top of the natural talent that he possessed. Nobody can be a top player these days without 1000000000000000000000's of hours of training and the right guidance. I fail to see how "You are not born with a footballing touch, nevermind technique." can be seen as "total and utter b*llocks."

Some might have more natural vision or whatever you want to call it, but no, I've never seen a player with outstanding* technique without any training. *by outstanding I mean compared to people who have trained at a young age

SteveH: Do you think there are many people around the world who haven't played football, but would be some of the world's best players if they just gave it a go?

Eh? So you think people are born as outstanding footballers with skill to burn. I'll grant you that you can have a certain talent, but come on you must be joking here, right?

You are not born with a footballing touch, nevermind technique. You can have the "genes" for it, but you learn most of the basics at a young age by practising. You can still improve your skills as you get older.
