    Yep, the wing positions are where we're weak. I was dissappointed we didn't get Ribery. Marseille were looking to buy Cisse off us at the time so we might have been able to get a swap deal going. Not sure if we were in for him or if he would've been interested in a move to England but that would have been one of our wing positions filled for a few years.

    Indeed, the spine of our squad is very good, it only needs a little tweaking at this point. Quite similar to the spine Wenger inherited at Arsenal.

    Houllier initially spotted him as a 16 year old in the UEFA Under 17 championship alright but he could have bought him a few months before united stepped in when he was 18. He had made 25 first team appearances at that point, no bad for a young player. Anyway, it's all immaterial now.

    It was a combinaton of things; initially Masch should have got a better clearance on the ball. The resulting throw-in should have been defended better and the cross should have been prevented. Having said that, it was a terrible decision by Riise to head the ball, what an idiot.
