Some of the press pictures of Smith's injury are horrific. It transcends football rivalry, you can't help but feel enourmous sympathy for someone who is injured to that extent. It's a basic human reaction. I don't care if he's a manc, a blue nose or whatever. He's a young land who plays football for a career not Adolf Hitler.
