  1. No, just people who can spot a spoofer. He never won away at Fulham, hardly ever, massive massive alarm bells going there. I wanted Rafa to stay and so that may have affected my view of anyone walking in but I never wanted Hodgson and wanted him gone after the City fiasco. Change something, anything man, just change it, this isn't working, what else have you got .... Scratch and sniff ....
  2. Were Spurs terrible at the end of last season? Are they terrible now? This dreadful Arsenal side has matched City over the last 12 games, only United have done better. Arsenal have still only gained 4pts on Spurs during that time. Bottle gone indeed. It's all here http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/form-guide.html
  3. Spurs fans being idiots doesn't mean he is doing a bad job. I don't think Redknapp did a bad job at Spurs either, but is the argument that AVB hasn't done as well as Redknapp despite losing key players because that is very dodgy ground in a Brendan Rodgers thread at the moment.
  4. Yes there was, you just didn't see it as you thought Roy was a good appointment. Widely acknowledged to be playing some of the best football in the league, style and substance, wouldn't mind a bit of that at the moment. Top 4 is nails at the moment.
  5. I just dipped into a few articles and it was a bit of both to be fair but he kept talking about needing to make 2 or 3 big signings to compete for titles and not for 4th. I think he was on to them then. It was only 5 months after Athens that the infamous 'Coaching and training my team' press conference was given. That was less than 9 months after the take over. I think he smelt a rat from the off and knew that the money he was being given wasn't a steady stream going forward. Quote from the great man, only be able to compete for 4th "If we don't change things right now and understand how crucial this moment is, we will waste another one or two months on two or three targets and we'll start having to sign third-choice players," said Benítez, who signed a new contract last summer, extending to 2010, but whose patience has clearly been wearing thin. "That would leave us contenders to be in the top four. Nothing else. After three years working really hard, we've not progressed enough. I have confidence in the Americans because they say they will back me, but I want to see things happening right now. I'm tired of talking, talking. We talk and talk but we never finish." 6. He was raising concerns about money being available after the CL final in Athens, he was on to them from the off. He was on decent terms with Hicks because of Parry, he needed an ally in the boardroom.
  7. Some issues, some issues!!!!!!!!! He was fighting the battles long before we knew about it, the last year and a half was just when Rafa laid his cards on the table. I reckon he was onto G&H from the moment Snoogy Doogy didn't turn up for training.
  8. Didn't they spend 18 months looking for a Chief Exec and then promoted Ayre and made Werner Chairman? There is clearly a dearth of talent at the moment, it's not FSG's fault that nobody more competent than Ayre was available ...
  9. Bad time for a typo when one has engaged full patronise mode They call him Mello Tello
  10. I've enjoyed his making EBJT a bit part player in a decent side, this could only be enhanced by his dropping Terry for the UEFA cup final after having him play in all the other games. As an aside that was cracking game of football to watch, thoroughly enjoyed it.

  12. No it's just blowing out of the water the way that United did for a decade when they had the biggest stadium, the best marketing and weren't saddled with £80m debt per annum. If this comes in it will benefit Liverpool as we are a big club but it wont make the playing field any more level for the medium size clubs it will just stop people buying success to some extent.

  14. Personally I think Glenda Jackson's recent run of form has got to have brought her into consideration for this.
  15. People getting all het up about the ex-Liverpool manager being on telly?

  19. I have a problem with it because the top managers don't go on it. Brendan has been on it before, so that excuses it in part but IMO the incumbent Liverpool manager is above it. The captain isn't by the way, he's just a player, he doesn't need to command the same level of respect and authority. It's a cheap show and it's beneath Brendan in his current role. That's my problem with it.
  20. I agree with CarraLegend, never thought I'd actually say that. Rafa was wrong/misquoted in what he said, Brendan is within his rights to counter. Unemployed/Available it's one word. He also played a f***ing blinder over the minutes silence at Reading.
