  1. Looks a great prospect, if becomes available I hope we're in for him.
  2. Justice must be seen to be done at all times. Think of the impressionable youngsters in the crowd. What an example to set them, perhaps their minds will wander to their own school matches and the advisability of showing dissent when the local ref has been equipped with an FA sponsored Glock? If Justice also happens to offer a splendid finale to the days football, which can be enhanced by the purchase of reasonably priced beverages and snacks then so much the better.
  3. We live in chilly climes. Perhaps the confiscation of kit would be a sensible way forward? Yellow Card top 2nd Yellow Shorts and so on. Forget about sending them off, would ruin the game.
  4. I could never support this ill thought out proposal. All reasonable observers of the game know that offending players should be shot in the face. I also think this should take place off the field of play to reduce the potential for damage to the playing surface. Perhaps offences committed in the first 45 minutes could be dealt with at half time and likewise at full time. This would add drama to the traditional lull in proceedings and revenues may be boosted by people staying on in the stadium at the end of the game to see justice being done. An appeals panel could also be established which could offer retrospective apologies for any hasty decisions.
  5. The fullbacks are the weak link, a good chance to play Bellamy and Gonzalez. Get at Nicky Hunt, he's not playing particularly well. Likewise if they play Ben Haim on the left as although he's an excellent defender he's not comfortable there. I would definitely play Crouch for this one, he will draw fouls which we can exploit. I'd play 4-5-1 with the two wingers to ensure we're not out manned in midfield and Gerrard dropping off Crouch.
  6. Andy it could be a good idea to say where in Finland you are? There are a few Finns on Rawk not sure about here.
  7. If that's true it reflects very badly on Liverpool's board. At the very least they should've asked for this guy's name before they sold him the club.
  8. The NWDA have big financial problems, Broomhead took over an agency which had overcommitted itself. They've been looking for ways to trim overheads for a long time. For a number of reasons a shared stadium suits them, EFC and the council a lot more than it suits Liverpool FC.
  9. Not sure about any dress code in particular parts of the stadium, a lot of corporate seats in grounds don't allow colours, or jeans or trainers for that matter. One of the reasons they'll specify no colours however is that they'll be giving those tickets to non Liverpool fans as well.
  10. Apparently he chased every lost cause and ran himself into the ground against Boro, just lacked any decent service.
  11. Barclay's one of the better football journalists but he's completely wrong on this one.
  12. Rafa has a background in physical education, an acknowledged fitness expert as his assistant and a record of winning league titles against teams with superior resources. He's not rotating player for the hell of it, he's doing it because he needs a team that can compete from the first day to the last without burning out. It's even more important in our case because no other side has faced the same demands we have over the past 2 seasons. Throuhh Europe and Internationals we've played more football than any of our competitors, as well as suffering more than most through injury. When Toshack was asked about our chances recently he said: We've strengthened the squad and I think have to make full use of it if we want to challenge till the end of the season. It may not help assuage the pain of a derby mauling but even Rafa's harshest critics should acknowledge the sound reasoning behind his decisions?
  13. Bellamy had been given the weekend off, sure in a perfect world all footballers would be teetotal but a drink 6 days before a game isn't so bad surely? Agree with David re the logic in resting him, he's also suffered from knee pains after playing which means that 3 games in a week is asking too much of him. Better to rest him and keep him fit for the rest of the season, as long as the replacements do their job that is. It's a pity Flo didn't work out as his pace would've made a good backup for Bellamy.
  14. Maybe Baros. Neither of them were good enough but on occcasion Baros put in superb performances for Liverpool, some of his work in the Champions League for instance. It's difficult to recall any Cisse appearance which compares.
  15. Multi million deals frequently involve several 40 page plus contracts which take time to prepare and fax. They got an extension because the deals were concluded within the deadline but couldn't be faxed in their entirety in the allowed period. A sensible decision by the FA I reckon.
  16. Tell them you've never seen a silkier, more cultured footballing performance. At times it seemed more like Cruyf and Neeskens than Carsley and Neville as they intricately worked the ball through midfield with a succession of artful balls. How the tuneful singing of the Everton crowd rivalled the heavenly choir itself and how league titles and European Cups are a certainty now that David Moyes has created the worlds greatest football team. Indeed such was the splendour of their football that it would be wrong to talk of fouls in the buildup to the goals or the penalties not awarded. Instead you forgot all about partisan matters and simply celebrated a victory for football. Then ask them whether they'll be attending the parade and would they mind if you tagged along as you missed the ones we had for the European Cup and FA Cup.
  17. I agree with Andy, should i be worried? The Blues would still want their own stadium eventually, as pointed out above they'd want more corporate seating than Anfield can offer. However a temporary move into Anfield might give them the breathing space to develop the Goodison site and thus raise finances to build elsewhere. They'd have more tickets/packages to sell and a chance to increase revenue and because of the historical connection with the ground it's not as bad as it would be in other cities for either support. Meanwhile the rent could ease our debt burden for those first couple of years in the new stadium. After they move out the development could go ahead as planned. Rawk hated the idea as well http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=17395.0
  18. I guess with Anfield regularly selling out the club hasn't felt the need to explore new ways of selling / marketing the tickets. Having an additional 10 to 15000 tickets to sell may just the spur that's required to force some new thinking.
  19. Have Barcelona been informed that Real are groundsharing?
  20. I left some cans outside the Attatuk Andy, you're welcome to them if you like?
  21. What do you base this belief on Kev? Even if we could fill it could we afford it? Parry said that the cost of building a 70,000 seat stadium was almost double that of a 60,000. Does potentially getting another 10,000 in the ground justify saddling ourselves with double the costs?
  22. Carra's brother has previous experience and is cheaper. Lets sign him instead.
  23. You could maybe try calling here? If you do find somewhere let me know and I'll include it here: http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index....6623#msg1956623
  24. This content is not viewable to guests.
  25. I met JB at Anfield after the international last season, a really nice guy with time for everyone.
