Agreed That should then be the excuse used. Long seasons as opposed to isolating the World Cup. Bellamy, Kuyt, Gonzalez, Aurelio, Agger, Fowler, Pennant etc. did not have long seasons last year.
We're nearly half-way through another season (how it has flown!) Who do you think is going to go down and who do you WANT to go down (realistically). Lets take it from 12th down to 20th Wigan 22pts Newcastle 22pts Man City 20pts Sheff Utd 20 pts Blackburn 10pts Boro 17pts West Ham 17pts Charlton 12pts Watford 11pts Personally I'd love to see Boro, Charlton and Watford to go down (I cannot stand the Boro away fixture!) I can see West Ham becoming like last season's Portsmouth (surviving the drop). I think Charlton and Watford are dead-certainties to go down...but I am not sure who else could do it. I don't wanna see Wigan go down as I like Paul Jewell.
Hoping for it to come up on Youtube. Just before kick off, a hell of a lot of photographers and tv ppl were focusing on this guy with a scarf around him.
Arjen Robben, Joe Cole, Christian Ronaldo, Dirk Kuyt, Andrew Johnson all seemed to have "bedded in" quite well at their respective new clubs as soon as they joined. Pennant is a right-winger. This is his bread and butter and he is constantly failing to do so. He is just not good enough for LFC.
