  1. No I think he does play golf with him (well at least once) http://lockerz.com/s/110925981
  2. This is from the lad who plays golf with Adam WillWatt William Watt Informal talks between Blackpool and Liverpool went well and the Reds should make a written bid for Charlie Adam in the next 24 hours.
  3. Wages wise I dont think they will get near to what we have offered I'd be shocked if Adam went there as he by all accounts is desperate to come to us
  4. I dont think Adam will go to Villa I dont think they have enough money to throw at him to persuade him to go there
  5. There is a poster on a Blackpool forum (TwelveAngryMen) who has been spot on about the Adam saga All through January when the rumours of deals being struck were rife he rubbished them Yesterday he claimed he was with Adam at a presentation at Cottam Hill, claims Adam took a call off Oyston who said a feee had been agreed and Adam was free to talk to the club bidding. Adam apparently didnt name the club but the lad believes it wasnt Liverpool Adam apparently stayed in his company till after 2pm drinking at the bar Now assuming this is true then I think we can ignore the medical rumours and I'd be also tempted to believe that the bid that was accepted wasnt from us
  6. Downing created more goalscoring chances than either Kuyt or Maxi
  7. I reckon its in their best interest to try and start an auction Whether its true or not I think the Modric to Chelsea story might ignite Spurs interest in Adam
  8. Pault86 Paul Thompson Blackpool have accepted a bid from spurs for Adam. Pault86 Paul Thompson Received** not accepted. Sorry about that. Pault86 Paul Thompson Spurs bid is player plus cash for Adam. Pault86 Paul Thompson Regardless of this move. @Charlie26Adam wants to Join Liverpool. Fourth_Official Fourth Official Two other clubs have matched Liverpool's offer for Adam, seems he still has his heart set on a move to Anfield though #LFC Fourth_Official Fourth Official Don't know the two clubs, a lot of rumours flying around that Spurs are one. #charlieadam Danny8t4 Daniel Ireland So looks like Blackpool have accepted a bid for Charlie Adam. They really don't want him to play for us. Danny8t4 Daniel Ireland The bid is from Tottenham and not Liverpool. Pault86 Paul Thompson To clarify. Blackpool have Received a bid from spurs for Adam. I'm going off now till tonight. Speak then. JamieDalton82 Jamie Dalton If Spurs have gazumped Liverpool for Adam, well sure sign Modric is off - and Oyston has dicked LFC royally. Richard__Buxton Richard Buxton @ @JamieDalton82 If he has then it will show that the Bloomfield Road circus is still in full swing. Also kudos on using the term 'dicked' JamieDalton82 Jamie Dalton @ @Richard__Buxton Think Oyston is punishing them for January? Richard__Buxton Richard Buxton @ @JamieDalton82 Possibly although the ringmaster/court jester act he had going on with Holloway then would suggest nothing much has changed
  9. Personally I think Kelly has been bullied a couple of times in the air Victor Anichebe in the derby particularly springs to mind (but there were others) Its possible he could develop physically over time to be able to improve this but at the minute hes short in that department imo
  10. My biggest concern about Kelly is his ability in the air Hes been targetted a couple of times by opposition teams and hes struggled on that score imo
  11. On the Sky Sports website.... 12:16 Editor: Stand by for a further update on Phil Jones' future - and it may come as something of a shock to Liverpool fans.
  12. Only for foreign players plying their trade in Spain Dont think it has changed for Spanish nationals playing there
  13. I think there are exemptions for footballers Remember reading an article recently and it stated that it was a loophole the Spanish authorities were looking at changing
  14. This was posted elsewhere and again illustrates the point
  15. The problem with signing players from Spain is their tax situation The tax rate for footballers is something like 24 or 25% whereas over here the tax rate is 50% That makes a massive difference and becomes difficult to be attractive to players without offerring mega wages Lets take this example player in Spain earns £40 k per week gross (£30 K per week after tax), to match that level we'd have to offer him £60 K per week. Now this situation is complicated further by players actually wanting higher wages than they are already earning in Spain So someone is Spain earning £40 k per week gross (£30 K per week after tax) might ask for £60 k per week after tax (£120 K per week gross) These are rough examples but it certainly illustrates one of the problems facing us
  16. Jones is only a year older though...
  17. Release clause in Jones' contract 8:30am Tuesday 7th June 2011 By Andy Cryer » Blackburn Rovers reporter PHIL Jones has a ‘release clause’ in his Blackburn Rovers contract that would allow him to leave the club if any of their rivals bid £16million or more. The in-demand defender is attracting the attention of most of the Premier League top club’s although none have yet launched an official bid for the player this summer. It is understood the clause was inserted when the 19-year-old signed an extension in January until 2016 – soon after tentative enquiries from Chelsea had been turned down. Rovers also turned down a £8million bid for their home-grown product 12 months ago from Arsenal and are bracing themselves for further interest during the coming weeks. Jones met with Steve Kean yesterday morning to discuss his future and the player is believed to have told his manager he would like the opportunity to listen to other clubs should they match the valuation. Rovers know they can’t keep the player at Ewood should he decide to leave and if a big enough bid is received, although bosses hope Jones will opt to stay for another season. While he is not desperate to leave East Lancashire, Jones is ambitious and could see a move to one of the Premier League’s big guns as too big a chance to turn down. Jones sets of to Denmark tomorrow with the England under 21’s for their European Championship campaign. Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is expected to be the first to make a bid Jones, although any official move would put their rivals on red alert. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was prepared to wait 12 months before making another attempt to sign the defender but Liverpool’s interest might force their hand. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is also a known admirer and has told sources close to him he sees him as long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand. Manchester City and Tottenham are also known to be interested. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/spo....ones__contract/
