  1. we played with a plan today dominated a team that up to today only dropped two points at home all season i'm happy with the performance torres could have scored a couple kuyt missed a good chance with a header mascherano was great for us aurelio looked very good 7 points from 9 over christmas is as good as arsenal and chelsea play like that every week and we'll be there or thereabouts
  2. dunne was awesome for them today they defended very well reminded me of us in some european games gave us the ball to half way line and we couldn't play through them
  3. mascherano needs to shut down elano do that and we're half way there btw - bit of tension between rednapp and neville
  4. arbeloa or aurelio?
  5. Cech _ Two howlers in a couple of weeks Interesting to see if he disintegrates ala Beasant Shevchenko starting to score in the absence of Drogba Lampard - is he seriously injured Mourinho bought some rubbish when in charge considering the budget they had can seem them tested now in absence of terry, carvalho, african cup players honeymoon period for grant ending interesting to see who they bring in in january/next summer

    El Niño

if he stays fit he will give rise to many arguments in a few years dalglish/rush dalglish/torres he can go on to be whatever he wants to be he is that good i don't remember seeing somebody as obviously fast as he is over 2-3 yards and over 20 yards can finish with either foot and his head has it all really
  7. lucas for torres
  8. he hasn't had money to get his first choice targets until this summer babel and torres are successes alonso, reina successes mascherano a success other players brought in were brought in because they were available within budget we have missed out on players like vidic because money not available i can't believe we are questioning a manager who has reached two european cup finals in three years
  9. winning the carling cup is irrelevant why do you think all clubs play second strings in it
  10. yeah - they were blooded and did ok
  11. disappointing but in the scheme of things irrelevant positives itandje hobbs
  12. keeper has looked good rafa has a great eye for a goalie
  13. he's done well since crouch was sent off marauding
  14. not over yet i fancy us to get one
  15. Babel up front with Torres against Portsmouth is worth a look have to say given the amount of money spent on chelsea they have some very ordinary players
  16. No but Chelsea manager did "So Avram Liverpool have made 9 changes from last weekend Yeah? We have made 7 and it would have been 8 but Pizzaro is injured I can't say this is my first or even second priority" Back to studio and they ignore that

    Media

read a piece in the paper yesterday which asked whether rafa was risking exhausting torres by starting him in five/six consecutive games same journo who had harped on about the rotation policy and how players needed to play regularly all you could do was smile papers really are adult comics and are not to be taken seriously

    A theory

I remember Macherano interview where he said that he didn't enjoy playing football because at the highest level there is so much to remember - tactical, positioning, what you have been told re opposite number i think that we live in the era of the "Manager" - managers get fired when results don't go their way and claim the credit when the team wins Is there a case for allowing good players to express themselves and not to worry about the opposition but let the opposition worry about us Be organised at set pieces, have some of our own set pieces but above and beyond that when we have the ball attack and when we don't defend some of our players do look like they are suffocating - obvious example is that we expect our forwards to work so much outside the box views?
  19. I'd like to see Benayoun play in a more central role has the "craft"/ability to pick out passes that we seem to be lacking without alonso play mascherano beside him
  20. crouch out and klass van huntelaar in was reported this week two and two and getting five i think crouch may leave he may not at this stage i doubt he knows himself never mind some journo
  21. no offence taken mate i think the guy has potential maybe i'm wrong time will tell
  22. if he refuses to move anywhere but liverpool then they would have to wouldn't they same as owen
  23. if we are going to buy potential i don't see the harm in buying some potential which has played in this country just because he doesn't have a suntan and one name doesn't mean we should write him off probably score as many goals in a season as any of our current strikers
  24. Should we not be interested in David Nugent of Preston. Looked very good last season. Liverpool lad (not sure red or blue) and wouldn't cost that much. Type of player who could do very well and worth a risk now for 3 million and not 13 million next year Thoughts?
  25. couple of pubs down baggot st - waterloo etc could be okay as well
