think an away goal will prove crucial in this tie. If there is only one over the two legs then that will decide who goes thru. Would rather play 4-4-2 and go for the goal that sit back hope to 'choke' them an end up losing 1-0 That would put us under huge pressure for the second leg as we would HAVE to score, which in turn leaves us vulnerable to the pacy play of Barcas midfield / front line anyway. Get an away goal, even if it means losing 2-1 or 3-1. while 3-1 would be a bit of a mountain I strangely would feel more confident with that than if we were facing the second leg 1-0 down. I fear the Barca attack at Anfield...

true we need a poacher like a Fowler or a Rush. Not something any of our forwards currenly give us that. Mind you not many teams seem to play with someone who could be described as a 'goal poaching specialist' these days. The emphasis seems to be on the all-rounder types who score goals but dont necessaerily 'poach' if you know what I mean.

points wise for us no, but if theyre giving a 14 day amnesty you can be certain that he wont be approved to play for us until after that date. The club wouldnt anyway as it would risk a pts deduction also. If they do deduct points I'd imagine Pompey, WHU and any others would sue the a*** of the PL for authorising the transfers/loans in the first place. Maybe this is why the amnesty is in place i.e. - "repent now and no action will be taken". The PL can then wash it away with a claim that 'all is above board' with the transfers for the 1st half of the season. What they will do for those transfers falling into this category in January is another matter altogether.
