i'm fairly resigned to Torres going now but if we can't get a decent replacement in we will be very short of numbers up front. that has been our issue for a while now and Suarez was meant to sort that alongside Torres. If we can't get a class replacement in we should tell Torres & Chelsea to do one. Torres has to stay till the summer and we can replace him properly. otherwise we are taking huge risk on rest of this season and next. Before the torres request after we'd signed Suarez i was starting to dream about a storming run to 4th place, without him we are taking a big risk on a new player settling in, we will be forced to over pay for Adam, Young etc if Chelsea really want him now they should pay the appropriate premium.

the emotional attachment has gone due to previous player. doesn't mean i don't respect what he has achieve and done for us but the fact that he was very close to leaving us twice still colours my feelings. Perhaps not rational but that is why they are feelings! Up till now Carragher, Reina and Torres had all still said & done right things so more emotional attachment. I think Torres has just killed any delusions on that score. It doesn't mean I don't' admire their skill and am glad they play for our club .

No ive not forgiven him. I respect the quality of player but dont feel the emotional investment anymore. If he left tomorrow id be disapointed to lose a class player but wouldn't feel the betrayal id feel if torres or reina or Carragher left.

Nice to know i'm irrelevant! Never felt the same about gerrard since his chelsea flirtation. Doesnt mean im not glad we still have him. But his daliance was the beginning of the end of faith in players. Torres could be the end of the faith totally. My love for LFC will always endure but players are just small cogs in the machine.

i think i preferred the good old days when you heard very little till it was a done deal. this new world of twitter updates, rumours, opinion dressed up as fact is doing my head in. Yet i cant seem to drag myself away from my computer!

if we have to sell him this window we should demand some players from Chelsea even if just on loan (plus loads of cash obviously) as chance of us managing to spend any cash and get any players for less than ridiculously inflated fees before window closes are negligible. wish list: Drogba or Anelka (short term) Essien? Ashley Cole could solve our left back problem? Torres is under contract - we should tell them to f*** off unless the deal works for us. You never know - rest of the season under Kenny with a good strike partner could see a change of heart for the player

no - £40m is not enough. especially now when any potential replacement's price has just doubled. i'd have more sympathy for him if he'd done this at the start of the window privately so we could have managed this. perhaps too much water under the bridge to stay now but if Chelsea want him now they should be paying us £50m + Anelka

£40m + Essien please whilst we've hopefully lined up another couple of strikers. Then he does his hamstring again in 1st minute against us. I would be very disapointed in Torres if he leaves now particularly for Chelsea. It would be more bearable if he went abroad and waited till the summer. Why go now? We've got kenny in and results are improving, we've just paid a fortune on a top striker. Surely things can only get better (ahem). Chelsea are a club on a downward trend, aging squad and not guaranteed to be in cl next season. Their players have kicked s*** out of torres and his mate Xabi for years and their fans are chavs -why would he want to go there rather than wait for summer and Barca or top Italian club? Is it just money? And why would we want to sell? Surely point of rebuklding is to build on our best players not sell them? If sell torres where will we found another top striker before 11pm monday? Lfc will go on but sad day and bad precedent if we sell him for less than ridiculously stupid amount (£60m+) and on our timings.
