    You need to go back a few pages to see that the hypothetical is exactly what I was talking about, after someone brought up the squad that arsenal have assembled In terms of fees, a lot of people are saying we should go to 'source' instead of waiting to see how players get on in the league first. Do you think the club who sold Mac Allister would have let him go to us for £8 million like they did Brighton. We clearly have to pay a premium.

    Haha that's what I'm saying! Do we really want to get to a position where good sides don't think twice about selling players to us because we pose no threat

    I don't think Real would have let us do the mid-season loan and subsequent signing of odegaard like they did arsenal. They were in the same position we were when we did the same with coutinho.

    It's the thing where anyone we try to sign means the price is inflated. Arsenal got to a point where people were happy to sell to them because they're crap. I'd rather not get to that position.
