I remember him saying he tried to get anyone sent off, and was pointing at Nesta even though Gattuso was the offender. And asking a fair question? Get off it. He was hysteric, screaming away and pointing everywhere.

As supporters, we are outraged when an opposition player takes out one of our own, and demand action from the ref. We call for players to get booked or sent off. What's wrong with teammates wanting to protect themselves and their teammates from further foul play and potentially dangerous tackles by asking the ref to discipline their opponents? That, and getting an advantage in the match? Granted, waving an imaginary card looks stupid and unsporting, but having a strong word with the ref is hardly any different. And I'll bet players go up to refs all the time and say something like "that was a dangerous tackle ref, you can't let him off...". FFS in Instanbul Carra tried to get Nesta sent off.

That's nothing. I still wanna t*** that fugly biatch gollum (or was that stubbs again?) for accusing our Luis of going down too easily after Hibbert tried to fookin snap his leg.

At one point a month and a bit ago, we were 2 fixtures behidn most teams. We're now 3 up on Man Utd. It's stupid.

Rafa always says that he never likes to talk about players from other teams, althought every once in a while he drops in a comment, as he did with Owen some months ago. I read the article on the Guardian online, and what I got from it was simply that Rafa was ticked off at the Cisse to Spurs story and whatever ensued (anyone knows what Jol/Levy said?), so he's decided to shove one back at them. Either ways, I think if Rafa did a Houllier vs Boumsong and threatened to show the faxes, there would be no case for Spurs to bring to the Premier League... All that said, Rafa could have just kept mum...not necessary to sour relations like that isit?

I was actually pretty happy with the lineup when I worked out that we'd be playing 3-5-2. It looked a pretty attacking side. But when I was observing parts of the match, especially when they frame-froze our offside trap, it seemed like we played with a back four, with Kromkamp further ahead of the backline. I think in the end it was as close to an exhibition of total football as we've seen in a long while. Positionally, at least.

He did spill a shot in the first half, but it was minor enough for him to clean up quickly. Excellent at decision making, though his kicking sometimes can be a little erratic, when coming out for clearances. Bloody funny though when Ameobi tried to stop him from running back to goal after his clearance fell to a Newcastle player bout 40 yards out.

Smart footballer, athletic and quick. Straight swap for Josemi? Deal of the century.

Looks like an attacking 3-5-2. Nice. Hopefully Cisse gets a chance in the middle.

I love Stevie Finnan, but thank God he was injured. IIRC, Rafa would have gone with a 4-4-2 had Finnan still been on the pitch, but since he couldn't field 12 players, we went with 3 at the back. The key was Gerrard and Garcia pushing further forward which pinned them back for a bit. For those 15 or so minutes anyway.

While I don't follow the "if he doesn't want to come to us, then he doesn't deserve to play for us..." cry, Victor not coming because of some payments should have all believers of that theory up in arms and fuming.

I've been going on and on about this to my mates everytime I watch matches. I'm surprised Rafa hasn't picked up on it and forced the players to attack the near post. Robbie's return will ensure we have some better movement and positioning in the box. Even if he doesn't score too many. Morientes and Crouch seem to pick the same spots to run into. There was a cross from the left on Saturday which was slotted in nicely for a player to attack on the near post, but when you see the replay, Crouch and Moro were about 2 feet apart from each other both at the far post.
-
The only reason Morientes was in the team on Saturday was because we didn't have someone better. Cisse is not the same player he was before he broke his leg. And that's unfortunate. I'd say Robbie and Crouch are probably our best pairing up front. Let's see if Nando starts ahead of Fowler the next time all three are available.

It was down to lack of concentration. There was only one spot the ball was going to be played in (if the taker was accurate), and it was into that area. There didn't seem to be a left footed player around to take the shot, so they were always going to swing it there. Very disappointing, but we had to do the same against Olympiacos last season, so it's not a huge worry.
-
It's an identical situation with the one against Olympiacos last season. I think Fowler needs to play alongside Crouch who will more of the support work so Robbie can be closer to/in the box. He hasn't had too many opportunities to even take a clean shot at goal since he came back. But he's looking good, and the intelligent footballer is very much still there.
-
Doesn't he do any fitness work to bulk up at all? He might be slow but if he strengthens his upper body at least he'll not get muscled off the ball that easily..

Some month or so back I pulled up some stats on our record with Riise at left back, and up until then we hadn't let in a goal in the league whenever he's been playing at the back. And it's pretty impressive to know that since then, only Ferdinand has scored. That too, was off a set piece. Mind you we did let in a soft one against Chelsea when Riise was asleep for Gallas' goal.

There were a couple of balls that dropped in the box in the 2nd half, when Pepe came off his line quickly to claim the ball. Me and a couple of mates agreed that if that was Dudek he would have stayed rooted to his line, and that the striker would have been through on goal. Shot stopping wise, I think they're both at a similar level. But it's his anticipation and agility off his line that makes Reina the much better keeper.

I think at the end of the day, some people will see him as a human being first, and then the footballer. Others maybe just see the little menace that he is on the pitch, trying to intimidate other players. It was a freak accident. I felt sorry for the lad. It looked horrific. When RVN looked and turned away in disgust, I knew it was bad. Life goes on though...I'll still cringe when I think about how bad it was, but hey, life goes on. I'll be celebrating hard come Tuesday if we put in a good performance against Benfica, and by Thursday, unless the injury turns out to be more serious than it already is, we'll all probably already have it far away on the back of our minds.
-
I must have been watching a different match then. I thought Neville was pretty solid and Kewell never owned him the way some of you's are claiming.
-
Morientes is just a weakling. Though the Eboue fella did shove him away with the elbow. Not a penalty though IMO.

Why can't our forwards train themselves to follow shots like that? Sure, it's instinctive, but surely they can force themselves to learn it? It's not difficult at all. Luis Garcia, while his finishing isn't the most consistent, is one of our most gifted finishers. He has scored all sorts of goals for LFC since he came here. Left foot, right foot, headers, volleys, rebounds, flicks, scorchers. Heck, for his first goal he even followed up on his own shot beating two defenders who were closer to the ball than he was when the WBA keeper pushed it. Digressing a little, how sweet was Robbie's first touch from Gerrard's cross from the right, in the play when he turned and shot across goal with the right foot forcing a good save from Lehmann?
