Everyone talks about the summer f*** up but back then we were interested in Dempsey, a player who wouldn't have replaced Suarez adequately. Both Sigurdsson and Dempsey haven't been playing well for Spurs. Personally feel that both wouldn't have improved our team either. We need genuine quality upfront. Walcott and Sturridge might improve our team but they will not get us fourth imo.

Huntelaar was the 5th most efficient striker in Europe. His record (goals+assists/games ratio) is better than Rooney and Van Persie. He is playing in a lesser league but so did Ba and Cisse. Only age is not on his side. He will be 30 next summer. Not that it is really a bad thing because we can play him from the bench when we need. Moreover, we only play with one striker upfront. We definitely need experience. I can understand giving the young ones chances, but good experienced players can give the solidity that is needed over the course of the season. If we don't strengthen in Jan, I don't see us finishing in the top 8.

He doesn't care. They know they cant win the league. Take a weeks rest against the mancs, get on with it next week.

In 2008-09 we finished second, they got relegated. They have come a long way now since then. Hughton played a major part in getting them promoted, but I doubt he could have got that team to finish in the top 6. Pardew is a very able manager. He has improved Newcastle United- something we cannot say about the managers we have had since Rafa. There are some proper c**** in that team and a not very likeable manager, but they are doing very well in the league. For a team like Newcastle, the league and CL are out of reach - even fourth is out of their range. Given the money spent and the circumstances, they have achieved a lot more than what was expected.

He is a good manager and will put out a competitive team. Newcastle aren't the joke team they used to be anymore. Pardew is a bit of a c*** but can't deny what he has achieved.

Cabaye, Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa can all cause damage. Would love a playmaker winger in our side.

Think we should be targeting those players. We are too dependent on Suarez and Gerrard. We need couple of more players who can win a game on their own.
