  6. can't say I'm arsed really
  7. Scotland would be able to put out a bloody decent side Dalglish and Law up front Souness Bremner in the middle of the park Jimmy Johnston and Jim Baxter on the wings Billy McNeill and John Greig at centre back Danny McGrain and Steve Nicol as full backs and erm Alan Rough in goal I'm sure I've missed a few obvious candidates out as well. As any Scot will tell you, Hansen was gash for Scotland. I think Hansen has admitted as much himself.
  8. I'm not sure the likes of Carra, Fowler and Gerrard should be as high as they are. These lists are always going to favour the modern era players. I think the older fans would have the likes of Hunt, St.John, Yeats, Liddell, Stubbins, Scott etc... higher up. Having not had the pleasure to see those fellas play it's hard to vote on reputation alone. Souness should be in the top 5 but I think his management spell and links with that rag will count against him. Great player though. Can't argue with King Kenny, my top 5 would be : 1.Dalglish 2.Barnes 3.Souness 4.Rush 5.Hansen my all time favourite LFC player is still Paul Walsh - I was about 13 when he signed and he was the player I wanted to be. He was small in height (like me) and played up front or on the right, as I did for my school and club. He had brilliant dribbling ability and at the time I wanted the oh so cool (or so I thought!) long hair he sported. All the girls in my class fancied him as well, that was another plus point to an impressionable 13 year old!!!!!
  9. erm... Diouf was bought after Houllier's heart attack but he was s**** though
  10. my side was picked on current form currently The Venus De Milo would get a game ahead of Reina
  11. I'm only 35
  12. my XI on current form would be Howard Finnan Lescott Agger Riise Gerrard Sissoko Cahill Arteta Johnson Kuyt
  13. my starter for 5 1. Paul Stewart 2. Sean Dundee 3. Torben Piechnik 4. Bruno Cheyrou 5. Istvan Kozma
  14. ffs there are some loons on here we have a go at other fans not rating our players and then dismiss all other team's players as being gash it does not mean you support LFC any less if you admit some of our rival's players can actually play a bit
  15. Hysen was actually very good in his first season.
  16. all bias aside, it's obvious that players like Cahill, Arteta and Johnson are very good players. To dismiss all Everton's players as being s**** is just ludricous. On current form Everton would have plenty of players in a Merseyside XI.
  17. direct trains from manc airport to liverpool - run half hourly and take an hour if you miss one, as wayne says, get a train to piccadilly
  18. Harry Harris claims he is naming the clubs and deals in tomorrow's Express. Just saw his ugly mug on Sky Sports News.

    Steve Finnan

there is no problem with Finnan - I don't share the opinion of many on this forum that he's world class and the best in the premiership but he's a fine player.
  20. A colleague of my wifes won a Radio City competition to go to some charity bash that Gerrard, Dalglish and other scouse glitteratti were at. This lad has missed one game home and away in ten years. This was Eindhoven away this season. He took a mate who got talking to Gerrard. Gerrard asked him if he went to the match, the lad said he went when he could but his mate had this amazing record of only missing one game in years. So, my wife's colleague is talking away to someone and suddenly he gets a tap on his shoulder and it's Gerrard, he goes 'We really missed you in Eindhoven!". The lad couldn't believe it. Gerrard thanked him for his loyal support, he was at pains to say this was not lip service. He said it was for guys like him he played, who travelled all round the country and Europe. He said sometimes when maybe he's not feeling 100%, it's the amazing support they get away from home that really inspires him. Reflects well on our captain and a decent story amid all the doom and gloom.
  21. the fact that the opposition does not have to play particularly well to beat us is really worrying defensively we look all over the shop at crosses and for the amount of possession we have in these games, we are creating relatively little on the plus side, if we can sort it out, we are still not that far behind it seems all the top teams will drop more points this season
