That's just it though, I've seen plenty of games where Jones just doesn't look up for it and fails to take advantage of his physicality. Even Bruce suggested the same. He's a bit like Heskey in that regard, imo. Less of a p*ssy, of course.

He's very good when defending deep, but gets caught out a bit when they play a higher line. Good player though and will do very well in that league.

He's a player who relies heavily on service from wide areas and he rarely creates anything for himself. He's not prolific, nor does he create lots of chances for others. Waste of money, imo.

Not sure about that, tbh. I do know that he was unhappy with the club buying two target men for big money, when they already had Klose, and not allocating any funds to sort out their defensive frailties from last season.

I really think he's developed that side of his management skill set. In fact, the players at Alkmar loved him and were gutted when he left.

Van Gaal's a top class coach who has done very well throughout his career. Recently, he took a team of also rans and made them Dutch champions, playing some of the best footy in Yurp. His teams always play good, effective, entertaining football. Though he only took over the Bayern job last summer, so I doubt he'd be tempted away.
