  1. I can't remember who it was I think it may have been Ian St John someone like that on the LFC Channel the other day. Saying they never bothered with concerning themselves with the opposition and I quote 'Make them change the way they play for us' they played to their strengths and nothing more. Now I'm not saying the following is the case, but if Rafa Benitez spends the week prior to a game showing Insua videos of Diouf or Lennon and telling him how good they are and how he needs to watch out, that isn't good and you just know Insua is going to be going into the game worrying or what not. However if you spend the whole week telling Insua that he can defend and take on the left wing and put in crosses, then he is going to approach the game with confidence. We have been completely f***ed in terms of motivation and confidence, Insua (No I'm not picking on him) has been woefully short of that in many games this season. Ngog has been a f***ing battering ram and our game plan consists of nullifying the opposition, you've got Lucas Leiva s***ting himself on the ball so instead of playing it forward he plays it sideways continously. Not once in any of our games have I seen us this season take advantage of our quality, instead be it Reading, or Arsenal we set up to control and contain their strengths, rather than focus on our strengths. I also recall (I may have got the players wrong in this) Shankly sending out a young Kevin Keegan against Jack Charlton or Bobby or whatever and basically telling KK that Charlton was s*** and overrated. KK took the defender for a ride and scored a goal or two. Came back in after the game and said 'Well done you just beat the best defender in England'. Without wanting to rob a quote from Pennant, footballers aren't robots, they make mistakes, they loose confidence in systems, formations, team mates and managers. If the manager tells someone about an opposition player, some may go into their shell and fear the game, others may thrive on it. Say what you want, but Rafa's man management is shocking.
  2. The only one that springs to mind for me is Benitez, but I don't think he is all that great of a tactician.

Dave Kirby would write a poem about it. Sad really because they aren't far off.

Because you keep bringing it up like you've got a massive chip on your shoulder. It's almost like you envy the people running SOS. They aren't the one trying to wedge a gap between ooc and ooter. You are, with comments like 'Local Group for Local People' . Just because it's a group established by local people doesn't mean it's for Local people, There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with some of the schemes SOS run for match going fans. For SOS it is impractical to address the ownership issue 24/7 because as a top media figure said to SOS in the beginning, people will get bored and ignore you.

Because you're completely ranting and raving about local and ooter support. What had SOS been established in Thailand or Newcastle? You'd be going crazy about how passionate the ooc support is. I'm not saying it isn't passionate but in the grand scheme of things I don't see what they are doing to help get the owners out. Because I can't see what they can do, mainly because it hasn't been done...Oh god I've gone cross eyed.

Then other than answer emails try to engage in discussion what can they do? But honestly, I've not seen many good ideas from ooc support.

Well done, you've completely ignored what I just asked. Once more, why hasn't the OOC Fanbase over the past 2 years established their own sort of movement to help out SOS?` I suppose that is a question that can be asked of SOS but there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to put in the man hours other than SOS in asia. Also Fletch, I have not been in the Spirit of Shankly for nearly two years. I have never claimed to represent them after I left SOS so it's your problem not mine that you think I represent them. Seriously fletch, it's been long enough now to fully f***ing establish I'm not on the SOS committee. The only thing that divides the local oot thing, is the fact SOS where set up in Liverpool, and you don't like that. You don't like the fact it was set up by every day people wanting to make a difference, and you don't like the fact that no one else with the ability to do better has stepped up the plate to do better. You don't like the fact that out of a global club the people who give a damn the most are infact from the city itself. The SOS is not a local group for local people, it's a local group but it seems the OOCers and OOTers have a massive chip on their shoulder when it comes to SOS. SOS is made up of the best people from certain areas who actually give a damn. You've got to ask yourself, who can do better, and who would do better? Because no one wants to.

One of the lead guys in that campaign goes the match, he's a proper legend. If OOC can help towards getting the owners out then why haven't they done it yet? Serious question. It's been 2 years or so since this whole thing kicked off and there hasn't been much if any at all OOC interaction with getting the owners out, and no posting on the internet doesn't count. If SOS 'supposedly' won't do anything for OOT/OOC support, why aren't they doing it themselves? Why hasn't there been an SOS based in Asia? Why hasn't someone taken the mantle and tried to orchestrate something there? But they haven't fletch, we went on tour last summer and all the OOC fans did was buy a shed load of merchandise. It's all well and good saying what people can do, it's what they actually do that counts.

    What can they do?

Fair point. But here is a question.. What serious impact can non match going out of country fans have on getting the Americans out? Regardless of the Union or not. They can't boycott a game they don't go to, if anything it's just posting on here. If the Union managed to charter cheap flights for people out of the country to the match no on would say anything. No doubt I wish SOS where more foccused, but I can only recall advice SOS got from journos' back when I was involved, we basically got told to stagger what we did and not dilute the campaign basically. 99.9% of them fans have offered f*** all in terms of alternative and have done nothing but kick off on the internet. Help me to help you, help me to help you.

I don't see why they are a problem though? It's not as if they take massive man hours, thats not to demean the work they do. But clearly there are roles within the Union, and if they weren't doing well and providing a service people wouldn't use them.

The only player to speak out against the owners continuously has been Stan Collymore. I think thats sad given the fact he's hardly the most high profile of former players.

Then thats your problem. No offence. SOS Can't be expected to host a meeting here there and f***ing everywhere. At the end of the day the people who matter in the campaign to get the owners out are match going supporters, Liverpool is a place of convenience with us being a Liverpool based club, and since people from all over the place come the match, they can come the meeting? At the end of the day SOS can only do so much for 'non match going, out of town fans' What do you want from them? Knock on your door? Host a meeting in your local? They can't be expected to address every single fan, from different locations, with different ideas and a different approach.
  14. If he wanted to buy him for next season, then buy him for next season. I know it sounds stupid but the whole situation has been a farce. We COULD have coped without Aquilani, but we didn't it was somewhat bizarre. Not only where we trying to cope without Alonso, we where trying to cope without a player who hadn't even played for us yet. You don't/shouldn't buy £20 Million players for the future, especially when you are replacing a key player and money is tight.

  17. The thing with Zonal Marking is that, although it's been great for us. It's still is a problem for us this season, and it needs to be sorted. One thing I found bizarre was Carra being on the post and Insua in a 'zone'. To put it bluntly, the system is wrong, not as a whole, but for us and something needs to give.
