_00_deathscar Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 In an argument with a Manc - he says 'we were only a big club in the 80's' and the usual shyte about "How many Prem titles have you won?" came up. My answer was 18 - he said "PREM" - So I said go look up what the word Premier League means. He quickly responded, "Well go to the official Ppremier League website and tell me how many times you've won it" Perhaps he should've done his research for ammunition.... http://www.premierleague.com/liverpool-football-club.html Next time any W(M)ank starts going on bout the Prem, refer him to the OFFICIAL site.
Paul B Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Just punch him in the face Yes, I find this approach stops any ambiguity.
owenthomas Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 that site says "There is great expectation on Merseyside that Rafael Benitez is the man to bring an elusive first-ever Premiership title to arrive at Anfield."
Guest Ian K Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 In an argument with a Manc - he says 'we were only a big club in the 80's' Those 6 titles, (7 if you count season 79/80) 2 European cups, 2 UEFA cups and 2 FA cups that we won in the 60's and 70's wasn't bad going for a small club was it?You better not tell him, he'll be mortified, especially if you also remind him that his BIG club was relegated in one of the seasons in the 70's when little Liverpool were busy winning the FA Cup.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Ask him if the FA Cup is different to the FA Cup sponsored by Axa
Tommy Cockles Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Don't have any interaction with them at all, it works for me. I mean why would you?
Guest Marshy Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Had a peek at Utd's club profile on the official premier league site and it's list of club honours includes 15 League titles and it doesn't distinguish between Utd's League title wins pre-1992 and Premiership wins since - and that's the official PL site which surprised me.
_00_deathscar Posted May 2, 2006 Author Posted May 2, 2006 Precisely. I was surprised too seeing as how much of a fuss they (the media) strike up about it.
Lee W Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Ask him if the FA Cup is different to the FA Cup sponsored by Axa ...or if the Carling Cup is more prestigious than the Worthington Cup ? Then punch him.
