Hints n' Tips

It seems that Newcastle doesn't seem to have much to do with the UK at all - the train journeys there seem to be random and sporadic, there don't appear to be any flights from the Northwest, the roads there seem to be sprawling and meandering

How would people - or how are people getting there - any recommendations?

Canal? Walking? Catapult?

I was kind of hoping I could;

1. Book a train from Lime Street

2. Get on Train at Lime Street

3. Get off train at Newcastle

Watch game. Drink beer.

4. Get on Train at Newcastle

5. Get off train at Lime Street

It seems, however, that this isn't possible.

The East of England is connected to the West of England via the South of England. Or Scotland. In rail terms, of course. It makes sense to somebody I suppose.

You can't even get a train to somewhere that would enable you to get a train to Newcastle.

Nice journey home Andy?

Have a look in the Rant Room :)

you could have gone via Manchester? direct bus i think and 1 change with train..

I don't trust a bus service to get a train with a 12 minute gap for some reason ;)

Lime Street to York leaves every hour. York to Newcastle several times an hour. I travel that journey every week. Its slow, but not that difficult. going by car its up the m6 and across country on the old roman road. 3 hours if you put your foot down.
