since the 10 th minute of the game i was bombarded with texts from fellow pool fans saying things like "not our night", "aint gonna happen for us" etc... then when benfica scored the same people texted me saying "right thats it, we have to score 3, its all over" etc...

 

upon which i replied

 

" shame on you, dont text me again with such pessimism, you all should know better, you were all in istanbull, have some faith for gods sake"

 

so they were right in the end, so what.

 

at full time my same mates text me saying, "rafa looked so dejected, he is defo gonna leave us, hes thrown in the towel"

 

 

please.........excuse my french but go F*cken support someone else.

 

that kind of crap i can't handle, ok granted we got stuffed tonight. but we are, still, the champions of europe, we still are.

 

that was a bonus, under rafa we finished 40 points (approx) off the top last season. this season we are much closer and we finally know where we need to strengthen.

 

we have the best manager, the best captain and generally the best spine/backbone to a genuine title challenging side and the hungriest liverpool team i've seen in years.

 

we are going places, so please, save all the 'rafa is leaving' crap for k*ptalk, and leave me in piece.

 

i will rest easy tonight, its dissaponting yes, but to win it 2 years in a row was taking the p*ss really.

Any comments about Rafa's pending demise due to our bowing out of the CL is a reflection on how easily some people are led by the nose when it comes to media hype, and how simple minds perpetuate the s**** by forming their own "conclusions" in reaction to situations that these rumours and falsehoods attach to. Because that would have about 4 texts worth of info, per friend, it would have been about 20 texts so cost him 6 or 7 quid!

Was just one of those nights - we had some chances - but it wasn't to be. s*** happens. We get another go next year (hopefully) - we were beaten by a team that were on the ball more when it came to finishing. Yeah, the referee made some 'odd' decisions, but we had the quality to make that irrelevant. No point slagging people off or moaning - it's happened - Benfica deserved to win. We didn't. Let's move on. Nothing to see here.
