Guest Kev Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Robbie's had 23, 9 & 11. Any other player had three different numbers ?
G Richards Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Crouch had two differnt numbers in the one recent England game (12 and 21).
magneto Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 What was Carra's before 23? Or did he break into the squad after Fowler inherited Rush's #9?
Coyler Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 McManaman? Loads of the players that came through around that time, I should imagine; wasn't there a period where the first-choice team basically got 1-11 at the start of the season and then the fringe players and squad players got the rest of the numbers? I'd say a few changed year on year.
fred Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I'd guess Smicer had three or did he start with 7? McManaman? Can't remember off the top of my head, but I think for all the mystique about Dalglish & the 7 shirt, he didn't actually always wear it.
Eiler99 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 What was Carra's before 23? Or did he break into the squad after Fowler inherited Rush's #9? He's always had 23. And Gerrard's had three: 28, 17 and 8. He never had 32. McManaman? When did he break into the first team squad? I know he had 17 in the 93/94 season but don't know what he had before that if he was even in the squad.
Gomez Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Never had 32 did he?Maybe 33. Sure I remember him having one in the 30's in his first season.

Kvarme Ate My Food Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Fred - did you think Smicer had earned the #7 with his performances?
fred Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Fred - did you think Smicer had earned the #7 with his performances? I couldn't remember whether he joined before McManaman left or after off the top of my head - I can now, I know it was after. Anyway, since when do players have to "earn" their shirt number? I give you Diouf @ 9...
Mikael Akerfeldt Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 He's always had 23. And Gerrard's had three: 28, 17 and 8. He never had 32.When did he break into the first team squad?
