ricflairandy Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 ROONEY: ANFIELD CLASH LIKE A CUP FINAL Mark Platt 17 February 2006 Saturday's FA Cup clash with Manchester United may only be a fifth round tie but for Old Trafford star Wayne Rooney it could well be the final itself. Having already suffered elimination from the Champions League this season, Scouse striker Rooney is understandably describing Saturday's game as one of the utmost importance. Asked to rate how vital it is to United's season, he replied: "Beating Liverpool is ten out of ten. No, twelve out of ten! "It's a massive game and hopefully we can beat them and progress to the next round." As a born and bred Evertonian, the Red Devils former Toffeeman would love nothing better than to put one over the Red side of Merseyside this weekend as he tries to cleanse his memory of Liverpool's remarkable Champions League triumph last year. Rooney is one of many United players to have admitted the events in Istanbul on 25 May 2005 were unbearable and speaking earlier this season he said: "I was desperate for Liverpool to lose. I had a huge smile on my face when they were losing 3-0 but then they came back. Being a former Everton player and now a United player, it was horrible. I was very jealous."
Stevie H Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 oh, rooney rooney, you went to man utd and you won f*** all. guon wigan.
Joshytoohotty Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 oh, rooney rooney, you went to man utd and you won f*** all. guon wigan. I was reading an article the other day, apperently he's not won anything since some U13 tournament. How funny it would be if Wigan did them in Cardiff.
Barnes' left foot Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I think Roberts and Camara will cause United's defence a lot of grief on Sunday (if they both play).

Guest AdamS Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Perhaps "Once a blue always a blue" referred to his inability to ever win f*** all!
