This US thing is very interesting. $8 a game, we might make a killing if they can get the technical aspect of it down. Wonder if it'll be available in Ireland.

That's about £50 isn't it? Can't see them giving streamed access to all the games for that much, not on a long term basis anyway. I wonder how many people get the Setanta PPV games.

I e-mailed that exact questionie why would I want to pay to $25 to watch LFC v Pompey and Man U v whoever when all I want to see is LFC, cheaper to go the pub. They told me that it's those that sell the games to the people who screen (in my case Viewers Choice) who suggest the price and the way it's sold. I said they know f**k all about footy rivalries then.

something like a third of Reals sales were down to merchandising/shirt sales.

beckham makes more money for them in shirt sales than all there other players put together according to the beeb.

I think the shirt sales/merchandising and lumped in under "commercial" which includes sponsorship - it's in the sponsorship area where Real have made massive strides with their adidas shirt deal, Siemens sponsorship, and associated partnership deals with Audi, Telefonica, Mahou etc
