Treble for and against
1961 - Roger Hunt scored a hat-trick in our 6-1 defeat of Walsall at Anfield, already his second treble of the season as we went on to claim the Second Division title. Kevin Lewis, Jimmy Melia and Ian St. John netted the others, with Ron Yeats putting through his own net.
1933 – We were beaten 4-1 at Sunderland with Sam English on the scoresheet. Pat Gallacher netted a treble, the first of his six goals against the reds, with Benny Yorston scoring the first of his five
