Happy birthdays 1938 - Defender Gerry Byrne was born in Liverpool. He was the hero of our first FA Cup triumph in 1965 when he played for 117 minutes of the final against Leeds United at Wembley with a broken collar bone sustained in an early challenge by Bobby Collins.
