by tie ins i think he means if you are tied in to your mortgage deal for a certain period of time.

The only problem is that the building society will tie the loan to my existing mortgage, which has 10 years left to run and as a result the monthly repayments will be higher than expected . I need to speak to them in the morning and find out if I can somehow cancel/extend my existing mortgage in order to spread the costs over a greater timeframe, if not I will transfer it to a new company....
