Births and death 1871 - Forward Malcolm McVean was born in Bonhill, Dumbartonshire. McVean signed from Third Lanark in 1892, scored our first ever League goal, bagging 43 in total in 126 reds games. He helped us to the Lancashire League title and two Second Division championships before joining Burnley in March 1897 alongside inside-forward Jimmy Ross.
