Heads up. The all Ireland traditional music festival ended after 8 days on Sunday past. It was the first time Belfast had hosted it. Sweet Jesus what an event. I grew up three streets away from the City Hall and have watched the city decline and claw its way up again.

Never have I witnessed such a fantastic event. Music was par excellance, crowds were biblical, craic was mighty and the beer ran freely. The city was buzzing, every street had a pop up bar and the atmosphere was one of pure unbridled Bon homie and craic.

i don’t get to say this often, if ever? Belfast, you made me proud!!! It was simply fantastic.

Belfast is host city again next year so start making arrangements about getting over to savour the experience. Well over one million punters visited and supped with the locals. I was also impressed at the cross community feel to it all. Terrific.
