The Top 5's Thread

Recommended Posts

Feels like discussion of Top 5 chocolate bars should be kept out of the divorce thread, but it's a discussion I want to have.

Feel free to suggest your own top 5's, but only when the chocolate bar issue is dealt with.

1. Twix

2. Twirl

3. Toffee Crisp

4. Mint Aero (the one with green chocolate in)

5. Cadbury's Snack

Generally can't be arsed with chocolate bars. Continuing Kop205s peanut theme I do really like the Reese's peanut bar and peanut butter cups though.

Star Bar gets points for being like an old Boost but I find them a bit overwhelming.

There is a lot going on to be fair. Definitely only an occasional treat.

I think they predated Boosts, disappeared for a bit, then came back.

I've got a vague memory of eating one at a castle in Wales, in the rain, when I as about 6.

Yeah I didn't know about them until they came back - I reckon they thought Star Bar and Boost couldn't co-exist but the Biscuit Boost took off in such a way, they retired the standard one and relaunched The Star Bar.

I'd like to see a Netflix mini-series about this.

The moody shots of me in Wales would be a good opener. Edited by kop205

I generally only go for dark chocolate bars, not sure they count - like I see a separation between stuff that costs $3-5 a bar vs stuff that costs $1

BUT, if I was back in the UK and buying 'confectionary'

Flake

Crunchie

Marathon - but I'd probably feel green by the end of one

Twirl - but kind of a Flake really

Lion Bar

And better tracksuits.

haha

Check this:

Initially popular in the mid-1970s, in the mid-1960s Starbar was invented by Linda Allison, and was promoted as "the munchiest bar ever". Starbar was later re-branded as Nunch and in 1985 it briefly became "Peanut Boost",[2] only to return to Starbar as popularity of the Boost bar waned.

(Narrated by Sir Ian McKellen)

I used to work somewhere where the first thing to sell out in the vending machine was the Cadbury's Snack and it always blew my mind.

1. Wispa

2. Flake

3. Nestle Crunch

4. Galaxy Caramel

5. Toffee Crisp

Can't believe I forgot Milka, so knock everything down 1 and put that at 1.

That dark chilli chocolate from out the aldi's is great

dunno about Aldi but dark chocolate Chilli is a great thing

Nunch? FFS.

WTF is Nunch?

Used to love a Star Bar but Biscuit Boost was too sweet - must have been my maturing palate
