Citrix design help

I am working in a Citrix environment, and our network has 14 office around Australia. Our design team have failed to create a network where printing 'just works'. It seems very hard to keep your default printer when there are 20 servers in the Citrix Farm.

 

Is it really so hard to ask for such simple functionality?

I haven't designed a Citrix implementation for about 15 years but printing was a pain in the f***ing a*** then.

I've only got a passing knowledge of Citrix, but I think the user's instance of a printer are deleted every time a XenApp session is logged off, so unless you're setting the default printers using a centrally managed policy a user will have to set their default every time. Are they locally attached or network attached printers, or a mix of both?
