If I had £350 a month to invest and the only stipulation was that I might need to dip in and take a bit out now and again, but the majority stayed in the investment on a long-term basis, what is the current best option?

Depends what you mean by 'dip in and take a bit out' really (mainly how much and also how often), but I'd probably keep it in cash and just find the highest interest paying ISA I could.
