Nebraska Red Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) My linkReds earn 99 million According to figures published by the Mail Online, Liverpool are the highest earners in the Premier League this season with regards to TV revenue and prize share. Despite finishing two points behind Manchester City, who netted an extra £2million in winnings by virtue of their first-place finish, the Merseyside club brought in £1 million more (£99 million compared to Citys £98 million). Every Premier League club was rewarded with a £54 million payment from television broadcasters as a starting point, with further payments determined by the attraction of the fixture. Just give the check to Brendan. apologies if already posted. Edited May 12, 2014 by Nebraska Red
Nebraska Red Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 How do they determine attraction of the fixture?Probably based on the number of foreign TV networks taking Liverpool as the main game. Over here, we were the top game on the NBC networks a ton of times. PL probably has some sort of sliding scale.
micmij Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Although we're not that big a market, it's pretty obvious that Liverpool are one of (if not THE) biggest rating teams here in Australia - the broadcaster down here more or less had all of our games on the main channel (even when playing the lower teams).
Malcolm X Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 In the ME, Al Jazeera Sports always broadcasts LFC TV showing all of LFC's games. We have a massive following and that will have increased after the football we played this season.
redjersey Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 How do they determine attraction of the fixture? In addition to the basic £54m, we get £750,000 for each televised appearance in the UK on Sky or BT. 28 of our games have been covered live in the UK this season. So £21,000,000. Citeh have been on 25 times, so they get an extra £18,750,000.

And City received an extra £1.13m in prize money ( not £2m as reported in the article ) which doesn't make up the difference.
