... The New Battle of the Sexes.

Kirsty Wark prog on BBC2 last night, discussing sexism/misogyny. some really interesting and occasionally shocking/disturbing stuff. Well worth a watch if you can get it on catch-up/iPlayer.

It was shocking to see the amount and the viciousness of the threats and abuse that seem to be routinely dished out, the discussion about internet porn was interesting and slightly disturbing (nothing particularly new, but it helped build a picture in the context of the rest of the programme's content).

Some very interesting observations about casual sexism and how it validates deep-rooted sexist or misogynistic beliefs of others.

Definitely worth finding on iPlayer - I've downloaded it this morning and will get my kids to watch it. It'll be interesting to hear their opinions on it (especially as I have a son and a daughter).

I thinks it's hard to draw a correlation with threats on the Internet and whether sexism/misogyny is increasing - don't people just use the most shocking and offensive thing they think will get a reaction?

Rapey tune.

f*** me, that's a coincidence - the same name as the programme on last night about sexism/misogyny/ A rapey tune, you say? What are the chances?
