Wireless Media Drive

£440,000

Recommended Posts

We currently have our laptop connected to the tv via an hdmi cable, but we're about to move and finally have the possibility of not having the computer and tv in the same room. Been looking at buying a wireless media drive, but they seem to get panned as much as they're praised.

Does anyone here have one or any experience of how good they are? ideally, I'd like something that allowed us to split the desktop wirelessly as hdmi allows, but not sure if that's possible wirelessly.

Thanks.

dont know if this is the same thing but one of the super geeky techies at my old workplace used some

thing called a nas box which he loved. Remembrr he could access it remotely and set things downloading and then theyd be ready for when yiur home.

Seen them mentioned elsewhere and look good, but they're quite expensive. I'll read up some more on them.

A NAS doesn't have to be expensive, have a look on AVForums for some recommendations. Maybe also consider buying a wired NAS rather than a wireless one and using homeplugs to connect the two rooms if you plan to stream media from it.

I've gone the wired NAS and homeplugs route and it works perfectly.
