"However, the UCI said the concentration found by the laboratory was estimated at 50 picograms - 400 times less than anti-doping laboratories accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) must be able to detect."

BBC

found that a bit strange

If Wada are affectively only looking for 2000picograms and above - how does 50pg make a positive?

They mean that to get accredited with WADA you must be able to have tests that can detect 2000picogram concentrations. Means the lab doing the testing is running some seriously sophisticated tests.

Cycling f***ed again

They should just legitimise performance enhancing drugs in the sport

all sport really.

My dad was on a medical conference a few years ago & was talking to the bloke who was/is the UK Olympic team's doctor. He told my dad - off the record of course - that practically a huge percentage of Olympic athletes (this wasn't qualified, probably meaning track & field) were taking something naughty.

This guy was the doc, not administering etc

This should never have been made public until the investigation was complete. The fact is that he would have been tested many many times during the Tour and was clean, yet 1 test on the 2nd rest day shows up a virtually undetectable trace and suddenly he is guilty? It doesn't add up, his explanation is believable IMO.

Speculation now is that he was bllod doping, "plasticides" also showed up in the test, which apparently are residue from the bags that you would store your blood in, if you were doping that is...

So he was doping out of competition, stored what he thought was clean blood, and used it on the rest day?

just let every f***ing rider use what the hell they want.

the roid rage will cause some classic brawls after a big crash.

even out the playing field, let every sportsman use drugs.

we'd save millions not having to test and there wouldn't be the hand wringing from all the whiners.

there are all kinds of organizations doing random tests in sports all over the world, all those samples get tested and you have scientists trying to detect new and improved drugs.

let all the players take what they want and you don't have to bother taking or testing samples.

Yes there are, doesnt cost you a penny though, and it wouldn't make any sport you have involvement with any cheaper if they weren't testing.
