Twice in the space of 4 days I've had a jellyfish in the face. I always feared that this would happen once I started open water swimming and it is as unpleasant as it sounds.

Sunday's episode was a casual brush, followed by slight tingling and some mozzy bite-like itchiness the following day (also got similar mild stings on my hands, neck and feet).

Wednesday's encounter was a full-on, t****** on the mush with a spiked sledgehammer affair.

I'm reliably informed that a good antidote is to piss on the sting. Don't think my missus will understand though.

 

I look a bit like Karl Malden now.
