Network setup help, purleease

I am trying to put in a wireless network at home, and am sort of struggling so am asking the genny gurus for a hammer to hit it all with

 

Computer connected to ADSL modem router and then to the big wide world

Wireless router is connected to the ADSL modem router via a cat 5 cable

 

Laptop set up to connect to the web via said wireless router and this works a treat. However, when I try run a network setup, nothing actually seems to happen.... I have a flash drive and jump it across the 2 computers but it asks me to put the settings into my wirelss router and let it configure automatically. No USB in wireless router..... I cannot configure the wireless online from the main computer, only the laptop - which suggests that the computer does not see the wirelss router.

 

I have tried putting the wireless router between the ADSL and the computer but get no connection out.

 

Any obvious things I am missing??
