RBM Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I refuse to eat them until the first of December. So on Tuesday I went to the supermarket to get some, with only having just over a month of eating time (the first week or so of January is ok).It used to be a simple affair, pick the brand you want buy them and eat them. Now not only are there a range of brands, there are different types; standard ones, standard ones with icing on top instead of of pastry, puff pastry ones, fruit ones (which I had always just thought where jam tarts), and an assortment of mince pies with orange or lemon twists. When did this happen? Has it gone on for years and I've not noticed? Anyway I have had 5 standard mince pies and two puff pastry mince pies since Tuesday. The first standard ones I had didn't have a decent pastry to filling ratio, so I moved on to the supermarkets Extra Special range, which had a much more satisying amount of filling. The puff pastry ones were also excellent, for a nice change of pace. Anybody else having mince pie issues this year?
