i've never managed to get into 24. just too much like a bruce willis movie for me i think.

Me too, far to formulaic, tried to like it really hard as it seems everyone just loved it. Like it a bit more now I know how much of a loon Sutherland really is.

I've really struggled with this latest series - it's seemed like they've run out of ideas every 5 or 6 episodes and then had to invent another set of villians to keep it running. For the last 10 hours or so I've just been watching it to see it through to the end, not becasue I was actually wanting to see it.

Haven't seen the finale yet but the twists don't really seem to be in it anymore, was very good up until about the halfway point and then it just seemed to be going nowhere.

The good Tony, bad Tony, good Tony, bad Tony storyline was rubbish. (matbe the finale sorts that out)

I know that feeling ;)

And Kiefer Sutherland's whispered dialogue is...shyte.

I had the same feeling after the one with the virus in the hotel and Tony undermining the operation. It all got a bit silly so I didn't bother with the next one. Sounds like I made the right decision.

The first one was brilliant.

I still watch it, but it feels like it's written by 12-year olds with ADD. Never any sense of a storyline running through the series, now it's just "add a new baddie in every 6th episode".

first two seasons were very good, after that it's been prett average, few good episodes, lots of bad ones

The second series though I kept thinking, why is all this s*** happpening to his daughter today, the same day that all this s*** is happening to him. Massive coincidence. In the first one, everything was orchestrated. There was a reason why it was happening in a 24 hr period and there was a reason why it was happening to Jack Bauer, it all made sense, even the twists completely added up if you looked at them in a certain light.

Series 1 is brilliant with a superb, un-Hollywood ending. Series 2 takes the "sequel template" and makes everything bigger, better & noisier; and succeeds. At that point it was possibly my fave US show ever.

3,4 & 5 all merged into one for me. I couldn't recall now who any of the bad guys were. Part of that was watching on a 15" PC monitor and watching several episodes a week. But they were still formulaic, dull and stupid ("FFS jack, just shoot him - let him live and he'll come back in the final episode"). Haven't watched 6 & 7 yet.

The news of Freddie Prinze Jnr coming in for 8 does not bode well.

If I had a daughter like kim I would either kill her for being so stupid or go Hulk Hogan on her

It's been the same set of villains for the last few series'.

Being pendant.

It hasn't been the same bad guys in the last few seasons, turns out they were all linked in some way (you didn't know that until the end of day 7) but there was alot of different villains, probably too many.
