Mia Farrow versus Richard Branson

Recommended Posts

Mia Farrow has ended her hunger strike to show solidarity with the people of the war-hit Darfur region of Sudan, because of "health concerns".

In a statement posted on her website the 64-year-old said: "I have been instructed by my doctor to stop my fast immediately due to health concerns."

The actress fasted for 12 days over the Sudanese government's decision to expel foreign aid agencies.

On Friday entrepreneur Richard Branson took over Farrow's hunger strike.

does a hunger strike not lose it's impact if you are prepared to stop for health reasons?

(clearly they are doing more than me and my tax deductable monthly conscience easing efforts but it's a fair point isn't it?)

Mia Farrow ... hunger strike ... solidarity with the people of the war-hit Darfur region of Sudan

Her coming up with that idea and not realizing how ridicilous it seems points to her being a very silly woman. And now she's passing it on? Is this going to be a celebrity relay hunger strike where the socially concious entertainment elite get to show they're there for the people of Darfur? In 5 days Branson will pass it on to Jordan who after a gruelling 3 days without as much as a salad will pass it on to Peter Andre at which point they reunite. Hunger strike special issue of OK to follow.

People don't read about this sort of thing without some silly celebrity angle. Unless I'm mistaken, it's the readers and not the celebrities who are to blame for that.
