Closest friends divorcing

I had no idea what problems it would cause when My best friend told me he was leaving his wife. It's been compounded by the fact that she's my wife's best friend, and they live 4 doors away from us.

 

My mrs and I hardly ever argue, but since the event 4 months ago we've had loads of really bad ones e.g. which one is coming to Christmas dinner, which one's coming to our New Year party.

 

Now it's who's going to The Grand National weekend with us!

 

I honestly am getting to the end of my tether, and there's no end in sight. Any constructive advice?
