Plus, it's harder to be bobbing up and down and going back and forth to the edge of the technical area when you're in a director's box. Presumably Rafa has stitches from the operation(s), so he was likely under doctor's orders to move around as little as possible.

No, I would pretty much guarantee he would not have needed stitches. If the procedure was invasive enough to have required open surgery, he would not have been at the game at all and it would be some time before we saw him outside even. It sounds like he's had ESWL or possibly ultrasound or elctrohydraulic destruction (through the jap's eye!!!) to me.

 

Also, I don't think he can have had a GA either as surely any anaesthetist worth the name would have taken the golden opportunity to shave the goatee off while Rafa was out!
